We are the owners of Hallmark Homecare serving two great communities that we love- St. George, Utah and Bend, Oregon. My parents greatly influenced my life and decision to go into senior care. They were significantly older than my friend’s parents growing up, but I greatly benefited from their wisdom and life experience. My dad is an American hero and veteran of WWII. It was no wonder that I chose a career in health care administration with an emphasis on senior care. Since 1995, I have served as an executive director in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, as well as a state compliance officer in long-term care.
In 1998, both of my parents were struggling with significant health problems and needed additional care and support. I observed first-hand the turmoil and stress aging individuals, and their families experience while navigating facility-based and home care settings. My family was blessed to find wonderful caregivers that provided supportive and compassionate care in my parent’s home until they passed just mere weeks apart. We are grateful for those special caregivers; however, the feelings of helplessness, loss, anxiety, burnout and financial strain were very real and quite difficult. I often asked myself, “Isn’t there a better way?”
In response to that question, I started a medical staffing company in 2018 with a primary goal of providing quality caregivers to aging adults in facility-based care. My wife of 32 years, Cheer, joined my recruiting team in 2020 after a successful career as a dental hygienist. The favorite part of her job was her relationship with her patients, particularly older adults, veterans, and patients with special needs. Together, we have built a successful business with the strong belief that “You should not be in the caring business if you do not care.”
We are always looking for ways to better serve our community and have a strong desire to extend our services beyond the facility setting. Ultimately, we truly missed the relationships of aging adults we have served and wanted to get back to our roots of patient and client centered care. Hallmark Homecare allows us the opportunity to form caring connections once again and these cherished relationships bring us a great sense of joy and life fulfillment.

Professional Independent Caregiver Opportunities

Do you have the following qualifications?
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience
- Professional certification (CNA, PCA or equivalent)
- Legal ability to work (Proof of legal residency, green card, social security card, picture ID, etc.)
- Clean criminal background check with a 7-year lookback
- Positive professional references that can be verified
- No state board or other disciplinary actions
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- Current health certificates as applicable (e.g. TB clearance, Hepatitis B screening, etc.)
