Jeremy & Stephanie Deaver are no strangers to healthcare in Guilford County NC. Jeremy worked as a health system executive for 13 years and Stephanie worked for over 15 years as a social worker and mental health therapist. They have 4 children and are actively involved at their church, coaching their kids’ teams at the local YMCA, and volunteering on several boards and with other nonprofits in the community.

Despite both having strong backgrounds in healthcare, Jeremy and Stephanie experienced firsthand how challenging and stressful it can be when a parent and a grandparent suddenly needs around the clock help due to a fall, a stroke, or dementia. And like so many family caregivers, they too found themselves overwhelmed with juggling the new responsibility of caring for an out of town elderly relative, while caring for their own family and maintaining their jobs. All of this was made even more difficult with the feelings of concern that their loved one may never be the same, and of guilt from not being able to devote more of their time to assist with caregiving.

Having experienced other care options, they knew that home was the best place for their family members to be. Home is where they were most comfortable and where they were happiest. But finding and screening high quality, responsible, & affordable caregivers was a challenge.

Do you have the following qualifications?

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience
  • Professional certification (CNA, PCA or equivalent)
  • Legal ability to work (Proof of legal residency, green card, social security card, picture ID, etc.)
  • Clean criminal background check with a 7-year lookback
  • Positive professional references that can be verified
  • No state board or other disciplinary actions
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Current health certificates as applicable (e.g. TB clearance, Hepatitis B screening, etc.)
