I was raised with simple Midwest values: help your neighbor, put others first, and show up when people need you most. Those principles have guided my life and career—and ultimately led me to open a Hallmark Homecare in Northern Virginia.
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked across the continuum of healthcare, from hospital strategy and value-based care to insurance and product development. Most meaningfully, the last decade of my career was spent in care management and home health. During that time, I witnessed both the promise of innovation and one of healthcare’s greatest challenges—fragmentation that too often removes the human connection from care.
That challenge became deeply personal when my son was born with multiple heart conditions and required open-heart surgery. During one of the most frightening seasons of our lives, I saw firsthand how coordinated, compassionate care management which made all the difference. Later, when we welcomed caregivers into our own home, I experienced how deeply vulnerable it feels to invite someone into your home and trust them with the people you love most. I learned that the right caregiver—reliable, compassionate, and truly trustworthy changes everything.
Those experiences clarified my purpose. I wanted to step away from corporate healthcare and return to care that is personal, accountable, and centered on relationships. Hallmark Homecare’s model aligns perfectly with that mission. Professional Independent Caregiver Opportunities

Do you have the following qualifications?
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience
- Professional certification (CNA, PCA or equivalent)
- Legal ability to work (Proof of legal residency, green card, social security card, picture ID, etc.)
- Clean criminal background check with a 7-year lookback
- Positive professional references that can be verified
- No state board or other disciplinary actions
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- Current health certificates as applicable (e.g. TB clearance, Hepatitis B screening, etc.)
