Inspired by my wife’s endless devotion to her patients, and the indomitable spirit of my loving mother, I finally decided to focus on the well-being of our aging seniors.  Thankfully, I discovered Hallmark Homecare, a proven home care company dedicated to prolonging the dignity of seniors by providing exceptionally affordable, high-quality home care services.

As a visiting nurse, my wife always talked about the fulfillment that comes with caring for others. I wanted that too, but a career in medical software sales just wasn’t delivering that kind of personal satisfaction. Somehow, though, I knew that helping seniors enjoy the peace and security of living at home longer would inspire me too.  Sadly, I lost my wife to cancer in 2011, but I’m so glad I followed her lead.  Her generous heart and selfless nature provide the inspiration behind everything we do at Hallmark Homecare.

At the core of Hallmark’s mission is the simple belief that seniors, regardless of physical or mental limitation, aspire to live fully and independently.  Why else would my eighty-nine-year-old mother work relentlessly, despite her pain and fear, to recover from a devastating fall that stole her mobility?  Why did she make it her mission to get an iPad and join Facebook in her nineties?  The answer is simple: because she, like most aging seniors, holds dear the joy of living life to the fullest. Care Consultation

We conduct an in-depth consultation to learn more about you or your loved one’s care needs. The result is an extensive Ideal Caregiver Profile.     

Match & Interview

Using your Ideal Caregiver Profile, we conduct a search and set up interviews with the best matches. You meet handpicked caregivers until you find the right one(s).

Select & Hire

We facilitate a “direct hire” relationship between you and your caregiver(s) by giving you all of the tools, forms, procedures, knowledge, and coaching.

    What About Safety?

One of the selling points that traditional home care agencies use is the claim that it’s safer to hire them because they do background checks, conduct training, and cover their caregivers with insurance.  But even when all these things are true, we are just as safe, if not more.

Here’s how we ensure your safety:

Criminal Background Checks

We run full criminal background checks on every caregiver we place.

Credential and Employment History Verification

Part of our background check includes a check to ensure that caregivers have the legal right to work and, when necessary, it also includes a full credential check and employment history.

Drug Screening

We can do extensive drug screening when needed.

Credentials and Experience

We make sure that all caregivers we place have extensive training and experience.  In fact, we only place caregivers with verified credentials, like RN, LVN,LPN, CNA, CCA, or other such credentials.

Liability Insurance

We cover our placements with liability insurance and occupational accident insurance.  We also show you how to ensure that your homeowner’s insurance covers you as well.

Payroll and Taxes

We ensure that all placements are legal and compliant with employment laws.  To do so, we help you to get set up with a third-party service that handles all of the payroll and applicable employment taxes.
